Fond memories For those who were born in the 70s and 80s.
1. You grew up watching He-man, MASK, Transformers, Silver Hawk and Mickey Mouse. Not to forget, Ninja turtles, My Little Pony and Smurfs too. Yes. I always watch the Mickey Mouse, Ninja turtles and smurfs. Hahaha. And also sesame street, barney, power ranger, Tom&Jerry and doraemon.
2. You grew up brushing your teeth with a mug in Primary school during recess time. You will squat by a drain with all your classmates beside you, and brush your teeth with a coloured mug.The teachers said you must brush each side 10 times too. Ya, that is true. But i did not squat by a drain but is the sink at the canteen. And i hate that. Cause there is no toothpaste when i brush at school. I hate brushing my teeth without toothpaste.
3. You know what SBC / TCS stands for. Yes. The old names for Mediacorp.
4. You pay 40 cents for Chocolate or Strawberry MILK every week in class. Hmm... I'm not very sure for this.
5. You watch a very popular Malay dubbed Japanese drama on RTM1about schoolgirls who possess powerful skills in volleyball called Meoro Attack. I don't think i had watched this drama.
6. You find your friends with pagers and handphone cool in Secondary school. Eh.... I don't think anyone carry pagers to school in Secondary School but they carry handphone.
7. SBS buses used to be non-airconditioned. The bus seats are made of wood and the cushion is red. The big red bell gives a loud BEEP!when pressed. There are colourful tickets forTIBS buses. The conductor will check for tickets by using a machine which punches a hole in the ticket. Eh.. I'm not very sure about the hole puncher. But i know there's a bus 344 and i always took this to my kindergarten school. And it is non-airconditioned but i prefer that.
8. Envelopes given to us to donate to Sharity Elephant every Children's Day. YES!!! I remember that. And got once, one of my classmates actually put a 10 cent in it. LOL.
9. You've probably read Young Generation magazine.You know who'sVinny the little vampire and Acai the constable. Yes!! My sister used to subscribe to it and the magazine will be mail to us. I like the Acai the constable comic. Hehehe.
10. You were there when they first introduced MRT here. You wentfor the first ride with your parents and you would kneel on theseat to see the scenery. Eh... I'm not very sure for this. My father used to drive us around using his car. LOL. But i remember once that he bring the whole family out and he park his car at chua chu kang and we took mrt from there.
11. Movie tickets used to cost only $5 on tues. I'm not very sure for this. Haha. I never paid for my movie tickets. My dad paid for it.
12. Gals are fascinated by Strawberry Short Cake and Barbie Dolls. I neither own or play the strawberry short cake nor Barbie dolls. I also played cars or trains or other toy with my brother.
13. You learn to laugh like The Count in Sesame Street. Eh.. i not very sure also. But i and my brother used to like the monster who always in the rubbish bin one. I had forgotten the name. Haha.

You longed to buy tibits called Kaka (20 cents per pack), and Ding Dang (50 cents per box), that had a toy in it and it changesevery week not forgetting the 15 cents animal crackers and the ring pop, where the lollipop is the diamond on the ring. Ya. I like the Ding Dang alot and my mum used to buy it to me. At first, i thought the cat look like the doraemon and somemore the name Ding Dang almost the same with the Xiao Ding Dang[doraemon] Hahaha.

The only thing i know is that everytime i switched on the tv, there will be tom&jerry and mickey mouse to watch. So, i not very sure which channel is it. I think it is my parents who tune in for my brother and me. Hahaha.
16. Hardy Boys, Nancy Drew, The Three Investigators, Famous Five and Secret Seven are probably the thickest story books you ever thought you have read. Even Sweet Valley High and Malory Towers. I think i had only read the Sweet Valley High.
17. KFC used to be a high class restaurant that serve food in plates and let you use metal forks and knives. I dun care about this when i was young. As long as there is KFC and mcdonald for me to eat. I'm contented.
18. The most vulgar thing you said was asshole and idiot and THE MOST EXTREME WAS 'super white'...you just couldn't bring yourself to say the hokkien relative. I very guai one. I never speak any vulgarities. Hahaha.
19. Catching was the IN thing and twist as the magic word.
20. Your English workbooks was made of some damn poor quality paper that was smooth and yellow. I dun think so. The pets' worksheet paper quality is high. LOL.
21. CDIS were your bestfriend. ? 22. The only computer lessons in school involved funny pixellised characters in 16 colours walking about trying to teach you maths.
23. Waterbottles were slinged around your neck and a must everywhere you go. Yeah. 24. Boys loved to play soccer with small plastic balls in the basketball court.
25. Teng-teng, five stones, chapteh, hentam bola and zero point were all the rage with the girls and boys too... not forgettin hop scotch and our fav pepsi cola 123. I only played five stones, hop scotch and the Pepsi cola 123 with my primary school friends.
26. Science was fun with the balsam and the angsana being the mostimportant plants of our lives, guppies and swordtail being the most important fish. Ya. I still remember my teacher asked me to collect different kind of leaves. LOL. And the story of bukit merah associated with the swordtail fish if i didn't remember it wrongly or did i?
27. Who can forget Ahmad, Bala, Sumei andJohn, eternalized in our min ds from the textbooks. Even Mr Wally & Mr. Yakki. What abt Miss Lala??? And Zaki and Tini in Malay Textbooks. Huh?
28. We carry out experiments of our own to get yourself badges forbeing a Young Zoologist/Botanist etc. YES, YES, YES. And i still keep those badges.
29. Every Children's day and National day you either get pins or pens with 'Happy Children's Day 1993' or dumb files with 'Happy National Day 1994'. Eh.. nope but received caps for aces day.... Aces Day 1996.....blah.... LOL.
30. In Primary six you had to play buddy for the younger kids like big sister and brother.
31. We wear BM2000, BATA, or Pallas shoes. Ya. I have wear the BM 2000 and bata shoes to school but not the Pallas.
32. Your form teacher taught you Maths, Science and English. Yes. And every subjects, i always got complained by my formed teacher to my sister and my mum : Hui Ru doesn't answer my questions when i asked her. Or Hui Ru is too quiet. Or Please asked her to write bigger next time. LOL.
33. The worksheets were made of brown rough paper of poor quality. YES!!! Worksheets when i am primary 1 and 2 were made of brown rough paper. And when i erase it with my eraser, the next moment, there was a hole in my paper. LOL.
34. You went to school in slippers and a raincoat when it rained, and you find a dry spot in the school to sit down, dry your feet, and wear your dry and warm socks and shoes. Ya. And my mum always help me wipe. =P
35. School dismissal time was normally around 1 pm. Think so bah. Not very sure also.
36. There would be spelling tests and mental sums to do almost everyday. Yes. And i hate it. There's also dictation for me. And sometimes, i did badly for my metal sums as i couldn't catch what the teacher said.
37. Your friends considered you lucky and rich if your parents gave you $3 or more for pocket money everyday. Hee... I get $1 for my pocket money during primary one and two. And got increase to $1.50 when i am primary 3 and 4. And got increase when i am in p5 and 6. Sometimes, when i have to stayed back for classes, i will $3 for my pocket money. LOL.
38. You see Wee Kim Wee's face in the school hall. Not very sure, but i saw the Ong Teng Cheong's face in the school hall. 39. You freak out when the teacher tells you to line up according to height and hold hands with the corresponding boy or girl. No. Haha. This only happened when i am in primary 1 and 2. And at that time, i tend to mingle more with the boys rather than the girls. And during recess time, i will go with my sister who is in primary 5 and 6. Hahaha. 40. Boys like to catch fighting spiders.
41. Collecting and battling countries erasers was a pastime for boys. Yes. And sometimes, i help my brother to collect also. Hahaha.
42. Autograph books were loaded with "Best Wishes", "Forget Me Not", and small poems like "Bird fly high, hard to catch. Friend like you, hard to forget". Yes. That's very true. Hahaha.
43. Class monitors and prefects loved to say "You talk somemore, I write your name ah!" No. I hardly talk when i was in primary school. But i was caught once when i said only ONE sentence to my classmate beside me "Can i exchange story book with you? And that stupid prefect take down my name. And my first and only punishment by my DM happened. That day, i went home crying. And from that day on, i dun dare to exchange story books with my classmates again when i was in primary school. I feel very accused and sad that day as i never been punished before in front of the whole school. Just one sentence and just exchange story book with my friend and i got punished in front of the whole school. How unworthy!!!! 44. There were at least 40 people in one class. Ya. And my index number i always the first 3 one. Only when i am in primary 4, my index is number 4. Hahaha. 45. Large, colourful schoolbags were carried not forgettin the luggage style bags. Ok lah. 46. You brought every single book to school, even though there was one thing called the timetable. Ya, i brought every single book to school when i was in primary school. Everyday sure have the English, Maths, Science and Chinese lesson. But when i am in secondary school, i go according to the timetable. =P
47. being able to climb up the monkey bar made u feel cool. I'm never able to climb monkey bar myself till now. The further i can go is only at the second bar. ='(
