I soooooooooo tired today and my leg, or rather my femuris is in pain. For yesterday and today, i have been going to yishun eldercare for attachment. Well, it was fun! I think if i ever have to choose between yishun eldercare and hospital, i think i will choose yishun eldercare. =) Well, on the first day(monday), i and samantha reached there at around 8am. Well, at first we were quite scared as everything is so unfamiliar. Then after tat, the working there introduce Zejun, samantha, cassandra and i to the elderly there. Actually, they prefer us to intruduce ourselves using dialect but none of us dunno really noe how to speak dialect so we introduce ourselves using manderin. After tat, the elderly have to do their morning exercises. Then we join in too. Then after their morning exercises, they eat their breakfast. After their breakfast, they were divide into two grps. One grp will do the physiotherapy first whereas the other grp will play games first. As for us, the student nurses, we were divide into two grps too. Zejun and i were belong to the grp tat do the physiotherapy and samantha, cassandra were belong to the other grp. Then after tat, ze jun and i went in to the physiotherapy with the elderly and i was asked to monitor one granny as she is new there. So i stood beside her and and see the granny exercising. Then got one person in charge there asked me to chat with the granny. But i dunno wat to chat abt. And she give me some suggestion and so i chatted with the granny. The granny is very cheerful and friendly. =) Then after tat, the elderly will have their lunch and went for their afternoon naps. As for us, we will go for lunch. Then after their naps and our lunch time is over, they will go back to their grps again. For me and ze jun's grp, it is our turn to play games. Then samantha and cassandra grp will go for physiotherapy. Then the elderly sit in a big circle and the person-in-charge give them a super big + big + big ball to kick around. It is so fun to see them kick the super big + big + big ball around. Then after tat, got one game is a aiming game. Then have to throw doughnut (actually is a toy tat looked like doughnut) to the center. Because there is not enough doughnut for every elderly so they have to take turns and throw. But there are enough for abt 7-8 elderly to play in one turn. Then very funny, i have to pick up and pass the doughnut to other elderly. Then got 1 elderly, becos his eyesight is not good. So his first try, the doughnut hitted my buttock. Then, in his second try, the doughnut hitted my forehead and he keep laughing. Cos, the elderly didn't do it purposely so i dun really mind. I laugh with the elderly too. Well, actually we play alot of games. Then after tat, it is their tea break. They will have their tea and some food to eat. As for the second day, it is almost the same as the first day but the games played on second day is all different from first day. And it is fun there. We were all rather sad when it is our last day there. Although we only with them in just a short two days, we actually enjoyed the things tat we do there and also the elderly there are so funny and cute. Esp the 96 years old old man, he is very cute. He is like a child. LOL. Awww.... I think i have a teeth growing.. It is kind of uncomfortable. =(
